My approach
Psychodynamic psychotherapy is a long-term process that helps individuals gain a deeper understanding of their inner worlds and relationships, thereby enhancing their insight. This process provides individuals with the opportunity to recognize themselves within relationships and to have corrective emotional experience. The self is intertwined with relationships and context; when we look at ourselves, we often encounter what we have taken in from the gaze of others. Our past stories and future dreams are actually here and now, navigating between our conscious and unconscious minds, waiting to be seen, heard, and understood.
The relational psychoanalytic approach and contemporary psychodynamic psychotherapies involve the therapist and client serving as co-authors and co-actors on their shared journey, collaboratively exploring their relationship. This therapeutic framework helps individuals understand how their past experiences influence their current relationships, supporting them in building more fulfilling connections. Together, the therapist and client investigate the emergence of unconscious processes and their manifestations within the therapy room, as well as their impact on daily life. This in-depth exploration allows the individual to liberate themselves from old stories and create different, new narratives.
